Giveaway: "Cook Yourself Thin Faster"

This contest is now closed.

Hello, everyone! It's another giveaway time! I went to Costco the other night and saw this wonderful cookbook "Cook Yourself Thin Faster" and thought I'd give one away to one of my readers. One of my new year's resolutions was to eat healthier and I have been doing pretty good, other than a little bit of sweets here and there... :) I saw some great looking recipes in the book and I think many of you would enjoy them, too.

The recipes in the cookbook are mostly low calories drinks, appetizers, main entrees, and desserts. Yes, desserts! And they look pretty darn good. :)

How to enter:

Okay, so here is how to enter. Pretty simple. But again, I am so sorry, I must limit entries only to the readers in the United States due to shipping costs. One of these days, I will think of a way to appreciate my international readers, I promise. Alright, now, here is what you can do to enter this giveaway.
  • Leave a comment and tell me what your definition of "healthy" is.
  • Follow "My Fabulous Recipes"
  • Tweet this giveaway

If you do all these three things, you will be entered three times. Just leave three separate comments letting me know that you have done these things.

You do not need a blogger ID to enter this contest. You may leave your comment using "Name/URL" (not Anonymous, please) if you do not have a blogger ID.

This giveaway will be closed on February 22nd, 2010 at 6 pm. Please make sure to check back to see if you have won at that time! I'm excited to see your comments and who wins this giveaway. Good luck!

P.S. I am not in any way getting paid by the publishers of this cookbook and am simply giving away this book for fun.

  1. I don't blame you for shipping only in the US. It can get pretty pricey!

I'm always skeptical of books like these but I have found pretty good exceptions every now and then!

My definition of healthy is everything in moderation. As long as portions are kept under control and there isn't too much excess of one thing (fat, sugar, w/e) it's okay. You don't have to sacrifice flavor!

  2. My definition of healthy is balance...balancing healthy eating with exercise and rest, balancing your food intake so you get all the nutrients you need but some treats too and balancing your life so you have time for the fun things once you get all the important things done.

  3. My definition of healthy is to enjoy life. Eat in moderation but do not deny yourself an indulgence. Do what makes your body feel healthy with both food and exercise and it will give you peace of mind as well.

  14. Sook, I think I'm going to move to your side....haha. Looks like so much fun there. To me, being healthy means living a vibrant, happy life. That requires healthy food and healthy life style. Healthy food to me means getting as close towards nature as possible, in its natural form.

  20. being healthy for me is to establish a friendship relation with myself, both mind and body. In practice, healthy is to eat until I'm satisfy and feel good afterward; workout to feel better (not exhausted) and have a peaceful mind. :)

  25. My idea of healthy eating is fresh fruits and veggies, real butter (not hydrogenated oils AKA margarine), no high fructose corn syrup, whole grains, as close to nature as possible. Love you blog Sook, what a fun contest!

  26. Hey Sook- thanks for the giveaway!
My idea of healthy is moderation, and the things that you do eat- eat real, fresh wholesome things. Not things that make you think you are eating "healthy" but were really made in a chemical plant somewhere... gross! ;)

  29. How sweet of you to host this giveaway! A friend of mine has one of these books and loves it. So, I would love to win. To me, heatlhy is eating what you want in moderation and having a regular exercise routine. The second of which, I fail on often!

  30. Sounds like a neat book! Healthy to me means eating in moderation and cooking with high quality natural ingredients!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I am following.

My definition of healthy is being in good shape. Not being extremely skinny. Eating right, yes sweets at least once a week. I couldn't live w/o my sweets. (I could but, what fun would that be)

I need to be more healthy!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Pick me! I think eating fresh and organic foods is the healthy way to live. There is too many processed foods in this country. Of course you need to have smaller portions too.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I think eating a well-balanced diet of real farm fresh, chemical free foods is healthy. Staying active also helps too.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Eating healthy to me means eating clean, unprocessed food. Cooked simply without any fuss.

And I already follow your fantastically yummy blog.

    Have a great day. :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm now a follower!! Not just because of the book too, what a fun blog you have :)

I actually have the first book, didn't know they came out with a second, how fun?

  36. My definition of healthy is more than just being physically healthy (although that is part of it). It's about moderation in eating, it's about being happy, optomistic, sane, living life so that you are content where you are. If you don't keep your body in working order, then you cannot be healthy. That may mean, cutting back on fattier foods and using substitutes, but not seeing them as a "bad" food.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Healthy to me means unprocessed whole foods, even if that means a bit more fat and calories.

    ReplyDelete
  38. My definition of healthy:
Not only does it include physical health (eating right and exercise), but mentally healthy. Also, spiritual health. I have found that as a mother, I wasn't giving myself much time to do the things that I love. Therefore, my mental health went South! I started to think that maybe there was something about me that people didn't like. Therefore, I stopped eating right and just sitting around watching television or sleeping all day. The same time, I stopped reading my scriptures and any other uplifting material and the feeling that I didn't want to go to church anymore started creeping in. Then, I started working on my physical health and have found everything else getting back in line. They definitely all work together!

  39. Healthy for me, is being able to play with my children and not be winded. It means I can look in the mirror and not be disgusted by what I see. Being healthy encludes eating right and exercise.

  51. Wonderful giveaway! I collect cookbooks, and this would be a perfect addition to my collection.

My definition of healthy is feeling good about yourself and your level of fitness, eating nutritious foods and getting a daily dose of exercise. I've come to terms with the fact that I will never be a size 6 (or even a size 10!), but I am in good health, can dash up a flight of stairs without wheezing, and I feel good about that!
