Slowcooker Simmered Smoked Links

Sometimes I don't really feel like cooking. I mean, taking care of a super active and energetic toddler (and I only have one) makes me completely exhausted by the end of the morning (that's right, morning!). So when I feel tired and feel like doing nothing but lie down on the couch and watch meaningless TV shows, I pull out my slow cooker. Slow cookers are probably one of the greatest inventions that's ever been made in the history of cooking. Just throw in all the ingredients and let it do all the cooking for you. This recipe I tried was SO easy. Three ingredients, and that's it! Just sit back and relax until dinner time. It's tasty - sweet & sour! Yum!! Your kids will go crazy over this dish and will think that you're the best cook ever!!

Simmered Smoked Links

2 packages miniature smoked sausage links
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup ketchup (Next time, I might try it with my favorite bbq sauce)
(Optional) 1/4 cup prepared horseradish

Direction:

Place sausages in a slow cooker. Combine brown sugar, ketchup, (and horseradish - I didn't use it this time.) Pour over the sausages. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.

  1. Mmm. I like the idea of adding horseradish. Did you use a paste or did it come like a raddish in the produce area?

  2. I didn't add any radish this time because I didn't have any. Next time, I might have to try it with radish.
