Sweet Milk Dinner Rolls

Hi everyone! If you've been here before, you probably recognize that I redesigned my blog. I wanted to get rid of all the "clutter" and make it simple and neat for you. You will notice that I have links on the right side bar to all lists of recipes posted on this blog, healthy recipes, Asian recipes, and favorite recipes. Feel free to check them out!

So today, I'm posting one of my favorite dinner roll recipes. My family absolutely loves freshly baked rolls. I didn't want to make too many rolls because we tend to gorge until our stomachs nearly explode... so I halved the recipe to control our overindulgence. And it was just the right amount of rolls. So the choice is yours. If you have a small family like mine, go ahead and feel free the halve the recipe. Otherwise, use the full recipe and feed your hungry ones, whether they may be your family, friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, or just some random strangers...

These rolls are perfectly sweet (not too sweet) and they are so flaky and soft... Mmmm.... Now I want to make some more!

Sweet Milk Dinner Rolls (Adapted from "Taste of Home")

Ingredients:

1 package active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsps)
2 cups warm milk (110-115 degrees F)
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 tsp salt
4-5 cups all-purpose flour

Directions:

In a large mixing bow, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Add sugar, butter, salt and 3 cups flour; beat until smooth. Add enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.

Turn onto a floured surface, knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.

Punch dough down. Turn onto a floured surface; divide into 16 pieces. Shape each into a ball. Place 2 in apart on greased baking sheets. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. (The original recipe says it takes about 35-40 minutes but my rolls were done in 20-25 minutes. So check your rolls in 20 minutes and leave them in the oven if they need to be baked longer.) Remove from pans to wire racks. Serve warm. (Make about 16 rolls)
