This mousse cake is amazing! I have to confess though... I didn't make this. My husband surprised me with this delicious and beautiful chocolate mousse cake on my birthday! He asked me what cake I wanted and instead of saying the usual cake that I like to eat (Betty Crocker with coconut and chocolate frostings), I said "chocolate mousse cake"! My husband was surprised that I wanted something different than the usual one that I always have, because I am the type of person who likes to order the same thing off the menu every time we go out to a restaurant. He gladly made this cake for me, bless his heart! :)
My husband and I both agreed, though, that this cake tastes much, much better when it is frozen. It wasn't "amazing" when we had it when it'd been in the refrigerator for three hours. It was much better the next day when it was frozen because the mousse wasn't overly creamy and the cake was also more set and tastier. So we recommend that you make this cake a day ahead before the special event!
The pictures didn't turn out as good as the cake tasted but sometimes dark chocolate cakes don't photograph well so I apologize. But if you are a mousse cake fan, you should definitely try this recipe. To get the full recipe, please click HERE.
P.S. So Valentine's day is on Sunday. Any special plans for the day? Happy Valentine's day!!
