ReplyDeleteMapo tofu...my favourite. I love turkey mince. A must try with this dish. Need more rice :D
ReplyDeleteI have never had mapu tofu before. But this dish looks terrific. The ground turkey also sounds more appealing than ground beef or pork, at least for this particular recipe.
ReplyDeleteNever thought about using tofu and turkey together. Why not? Sounds awesome!
ReplyDeleteI have eaten tofu before but for some reason I cannot get past the texture of it and therefore usually don't enjoy dishes with it--glad you do though :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's funny I never thought it's considered Japanese although Japanese love it! Looks yummy and healthy. :)
ReplyDeleteHi everyone, thanks for your comments! The only reason why I always thought it was Japanese food is because of the name and also my husband who lived in Japan said he always had it while he lived there. :) But I've seen Chinese version of the recipe as well. It is really good! I know Koreans enjoy this dish as well. I guess it's quite popular among a lot of Asian countries, it seems. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds yummy! I haven't heard the term mabu before.
ReplyDeleteIt looks really flavorful and full of textures!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time since I used tofu in my cooking, high time I revisited it, this looks and sounds scrummy.
ReplyDeleteThanks also for visiting my blog, and for your kind comments.
The rice with curry looks too tempting.. its making me drool...
ReplyDeleteLooks so good! I was going to buy those seasonings today at the market.
ReplyDeleteThis is so good with rice! I think of this as Sichuan Chinese
ReplyDeleteTHIS is great. I love love love that you used turkey, how healthy! Since watching a lot of food industry documentaries I have been hesitant in buying ground pork or beef. I usually will ground my own. Mapo tofu is one of my most loved chinese dishes, the spicy sauce along with the soft silky tofu. YUM
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to use turkey instead of the usual fatty pork. Means I can indulge more often with a little less guilt. ;)
ReplyDeleteVery healthy! Looks delicious.
